Victoria - Dinning recommendation 3

victoria restaurantsAfter talking with friends, we got other great local restaurants in Victoria BC.

For Jamaican food, you should try the Reef. It offers warm johnny cakes in the house together with mango coconut butter. This restaurant is just around by Ferris' -- both towards the bottom end of Yates.

For Mexican food, Hernande'z and Adrianna's would be your choice. Hernande'z is on Yates inside an arcade. And Adrianna's is on Amelia Street inside an unsuspecting area of the downtown core in an old house.

For African spicy goodness, you should try the Blue Nile:  This one is outside the downtown core but worth the trek. They provide a buffet-style supper and this restaurant is not open Mondays

While for Thai food: Sookjai and Siam are equally good, and they are all on Fort but a few blocks aside from each other. Mai Thai is actually on Cook Street and this is a family-run joint, really unconventional. My friends have also given good story about Saffron but I haven't been there yet...

Milestones is a chain, that's the reason some people underestimate from the outside the windows, but if you come into the amazing restaurant, you will for sure change your mind. The food is very good. Try it I would say.

Recommend by friends about Coffee: 2% Jazz, These restaurant has a special wicked mocha with chipotle drink called a "too hot to handle”, you can also get an alternately "too cold to hold" throughout the summer. The owner is Mr. Jones, he  also operates Discovery which is a few blocks aside on Discovery street!

Ambiente is a tiny spot on Fort Street which also offers an excellent mocha made using hand-shaved chocolate.

And Pagliacci's is also my friends' favorite place. It is a one off family restaurant that you would like to go frequently and you will never feel disappointed. Actrually this is a small room and incredibly comfortable. Da Tandoor on Fort Street is also worth to try.

Special recommendation to Vietnam Garden Restaurant 524 Admirals Road Victoria, BC This is a Chinese restaurant offers not only really traditional  Chinese food but also great Asian food, you will satisfied with its great price - restaurant is family-run, the owner is really incredibly helpful and the service is excellent. You can also order take-out food as it is fast and the restaurant offers lots of food for which you pay, but plan to sit-in before long because the menu lists posted in-store appear marvellous and additional special. Anyone in Esquimalt would need to try this place because it is a local delight! This restaurant won lots of awards and always be on local newspaper for their award winning dishes.
